In their latest music video The Underachievers (AK and Issa Dash) give listeners a visual and lyrical tour of their personal rap utopia – or dystopia depending on your point of view. The video follows the duo, whose sound can best be described as a rough A$AP Mob mixed with the aggression of Tyler the Creator, from the stage to the streets of New York.
The Flatbush, Brooklyn natives gained the attention of hardcore fans when they started making YouTube videos back in 2012. Their video for the “Herb Shuttles” has received over 6 million views and “Gold Soul Theory” is a few clicks shy of 2.4 million. In 2012 The Underachievers signed with Brainfeeder records and began working with iconic producer Flying Lotus. Since then, they have released two mixtapes, toured with Ab-Soul and plan to drop their first full-length titled Cellar Door: Terminus Ut Exordium on August 12.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the dreamy beat, agile verses, and thunderous hook that come together to unleash a militant attack on mainstream rap.
