Robert Alfons’s excellent second album as Trust, Joyland, has been out a month now. It’s been one of my favorite albums of the year so far, and is still getting heavy rotation. One of the overarching sonic themes on the album was space, and it’s conveyed throughout the album with an atmospheric feeling of weightlessness. “Capitol” is one of the prime examples of this sensation, and the newly released video for the song continues this aesthetic into the visual realm. The Will Joines directed video follows a young woman as she is haunted by a bust of what has to be someone from antiquity, which eventually pulls her into Alfons’s world of strobes and stars. Check it out below.
Joyland is out now on Arts & Crafts.
