Coming to you straight from our beloved little borough, self-proclaimed dark pop duo Weeknight have just shared a video for “Honey,” a single off their recent debut album Post-Everything. The track is one moody jam, with layers of reverb-heavy guitar and synth and drum machine samples coming to the forefront, sounding almost like the National if they had more of a proclivity toward pop and electronic elements. In the video, the camera follows a (presumed) veteran as he goes about his day, which includes long walks, a quick mid-day beer, ice cream, and some somber reflection in a nearby cemetery. It’s obvious that he’s suffering from a severe case of wanderlust when you watch how often he stops to gaze at the bodies of water that surround him and the planes that fly overhead. You get the impression, however, that much like the chorus, his heart still knows which way to go.
