Listen: illuminati hotties “u v v p”

Sarah Tudzin has turned to vulnerability with an oldies flair for her latest illuminati hotties single “u v v p” featuring Buck Meek of Big Thief. The track, off her newly announced forthcoming record Let Me Do One More, is a western inspired, dreamy confession of love, despite any shyness in sharing those feelings.

Clearly lovesick and swimming in it, Tudzin doesn’t want to hide the way she feels any longer. Buck Meek’s Lee Hazlewood-esque passage of the song leans into the idea of our general inclination to take shortcuts when it comes to lovers or relationships — and the emptiness that follows as a result. He too has turned a corner and wants to stay put, rather than run away, and take his partner dancing. The whole premise is both intimate and sweetly wholesome.

Punctuated with 50s girl group style drum beats, a lilting country guitar, and a summer-y breezy quality all interwoven seamlessly, Tudzin’s production chops are showcased in their best light. Her vocal quality is unexpected if you’re unfamiliar with the band, but brings a unique update to retro-inspired instrumentation.

After a tumultuous few years dealing with label disputes and unpaid royalties, Let Me Do One More is Tudzin’s triumphant return to the scene. Let Me Do One More is out October 1st via Snack Shack Tracks (in partnership with Hopeless Records).
