Roya’s “A Sickness” is reckless. A guitar-driven, post-punk track with lackadaisical lyrics that belongs on some skateboarding compilation video. It makes me not want to give a shit about anything anymore. Hide out in some dark basement smoking cigarettes all day while wearing sunglasses that are too big for my face. The singer sounds like the punk girlfriend I’ve always wanted. You know the scene in Pulp Fiction where John Travolta and Uma Thurma dance in that twist contest? This is the song they should be dancing to. If Roya makes a music video for this song, it should be a montage of people destroying instruments while wearing black turtlenecks. If you’re like me, you’ll probably be humming this guitar riff for the rest of the day after you hear this. Get your twist on and listen below.
