If you are in New York right now, you know that there is an *energy* around the scene — be that music, fashion, or nightlife, but especially for music. Making their bold debut into the epicenter of it all is the new project, Comatosed, from Johnny Donahoe and Jaie Gonzalez (formerly of Splashh) with their single “Sinister & Severe”.

This is no landfill indie sleaze. Cut from the same creative cloth as acts like Suicide and A.R.E. Weapons, “Sinister & Severe” is a synth-y, moody, dancefloor anthem.

Donahoe shared, “Lyrically sinister and severe represents the relationship between a man and his subconscious. The harsh nature of the mental reaction to fear, whether justified in reality or a manifestation of paranoia. In another sense this unsettling feeling can be brought on by an intense love… whether for a woman, substance, or anything that can begin great and end horribly.”

Long-time friends, finally taking the plunge for a joint musical endeavor was inevitable for Gonzalez and Donahoe. “Johnny and I had been talking about doing music together for years before we finally got it together,” shared Gonzalez. “Comatosed was conceived at the hour people most often decide to start a band together, though I knew this one would actually come to fruition. I first saw johnny as the singer in a punk band I produced some songs for and I knew his voice could work amazingly over a more industrial and electronic feel. As soon as he started reciting his lyrics over music I’d made the songs came together almost instantly.”
