For a band that’s just relocated to New York, Birdgangs has been too busy on the road until late to really spend some time getting settled. Cutting their teeth in the Boston DIY scene (and all across New England), the surf punk group is bringing their reimagined Arctic Monkeys meets The Growlers supergroup sound to Brooklyn this New Years Eve at Our Wicked Lady. We shared a bill in Rochester NY with a band called Treasure Plate who play “interstellar psychedelic concept rock”. Over the course of the set they act out a doomed space mission that gets taken over by interstellar alien pirates, including an incredible act-out of having a squid alien (pictured on Jack’s head) eat and take over the lead singers soul. These dudes ripped and were so friendly, we had an absolute blast with them.Our digs in Louisville were spitting distance from Churchill Downs so we had our own Kentucky Derby.
Opus Underground in Salem MA is one of our absolute favorite venues to play. It’s also a sweaty concrete bunker, god this place rules.
