Wyatt Shears returns to his solo project Enjoy with a fuzzy three song EP, Real Life Like Cold Ice. The EP is compromised of three songs: “Real Life Like Cold Ice,” “1+1” and “Go Figure” – all of which clock in under three minutes. Since the release of Another Word For Joy earlier this year, I haven’t been able to stop picturing Enjoy as the musical side project of a space-galavanting, arcade-dwelling cowboy. The EP is really transformative especially considering how short it is, it feels like you’re inside the early days of the Internet in some sort of Lynchian Internet cafe/jazz lounge hybrid. Enjoy is also just fun because you can tell Wyatt doesn’t take himself too seriously, there’s a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor that only adds to the surrealness of the sonic world he’s created.
