Firetalk Records is responsible for some of the most incredibly loveable music that came out of 2020/2021. All of their artists are such talented musicians, able to soak their sounds with depth and empathy at the same time as buzzy joy.
The showcase at Baby’s at the end of last month was everything we could’ve wished for from Mamalarky, Packs, and Wombo. The room was loud but in a different way than it is when you’re seeing a Brooklyn band who has played the venue a dozen times. All three of these Firetalk bands brought sincerity and a deep appreciation for the moment that can sometimes get a little buried. They also brought so many absolute shredders of keyboard solos, mathy drums, deadpan banter, breezy guitar riffs, and so much class. Also of course so much rock n roll.
We caught some snaps of them after the show, bouncing around and outside of the venue, on tops of cars and stair railings.
