ICYMI: IDLES, Circe, Naked Giants, Nana Adjoa

ICYMI is a series featuring new and notable releases you (and we) may have missed

Art by Enne Goldstein, you can find more of their work here

Circe – “Ten Girls”

Circe has a super cool aesthetic along with a Lorde meets Grimes sort of sound, making her one of the best pop acts I’ve come across in a minute. I feel like with her, it’s a matter of when, not if, she’s gonna blow up.

Naked Giants – “(God Damn!) What I Am”

Naked Giants does it again. The most recent track off their upcoming album The Shadow, takes us back to what it was like for the band back in their touring days — which, speaking of, this is gonna be killer live. Even listening to it, it’s like you can feel the crowd bouncing along with you.

Nana Adjoa – “I Want To Change”

Nana Adjoa’s “I Want To Change” feels particularly timely as many of us are currently being forced to take a hard look at our reality and our future and figure out a new and different path. Adjoa articulates this message with more hope and eloquence, though, in this track.

IDLES – “Model Village”

If Weeds was made in 2020, “Model Village” would’ve been the theme song instead of “Little Boxes”. A colorful paper-cut motion picture (likely one we’ll look back at as one of the great socially distanced music video alternatives) illustrates the suffocating, mob mentality that can be associated with being in a smaller town or “village”.
