I don’t want to bring everything back to the dismal state of existence we’re currently in but it’s hard not to when you’re talking about virtual reality. Anyways that’s all I’m going to say about that but!! This Thursday Cloud of Petals opens at Red Bull Arts in New York City.
The exhibition is a collaboration between artist Sarah Meyohas, immersive tech producer Tyler Pridgen and creative technology studio, Superbright. It’s basically an all senses experience. A part of which is 6 virtual reality headsets through which the exhibition examines the connection between the naturally beautiful and it’s constructed synthetic mirror—the project started with 10,000 individual petals photographed, put into some sort of computer algorithm (or something else that I don’t understand!!) which then creates the cyborg petals.
